Gwenno Robinson is an award-winning writer, journalist and documentary-maker, based in South Wales.

Gwenno was raised as a first-language Welsh speaker in South Wales. She is currently working as a freelance broadcast journalist for BBC Cymru in Cardiff.
In 2023, she won the Orwell Society/NUJ Young Journalist’s Award for the best political column. At 20, she was selected as part of Literature Wales’ 2023 Emerging Writers Cohort for Welsh writers under 30. She has also been awarded Young Peace Writer of the Year by the Welsh Centre for International Affairs. Her written work has featured in The Guardian, The Daily Mail, Nation Cymru, the welsh agenda, Cynfas (The National Museum of Wales) and Varsity. She also regularly contributes to BBC Radio Cymru/Wales and Newyddion S4C as a political commentator. In 2024, she graduated from Cambridge University with a Double First in Human, Social and Political Sciences BA, having specialised in Politics and International Relations.
When she isn’t writing, Gwenno is a keen documentary-maker. Her first documentary, Y Cymry Oddi Cartre' (translated: 'The Welsh away from home') explores the experiences of Welsh students studying at Cambridge, reflecting on how their Welsh identity has changed since moving across the border to England.
